The Texas Hawking Association's 5th Annual Sky Trials were held in mid-February just outside Hillsboro. Although windy and cold, the event drew a large crowd, some from as far away as Louisiana. Due to injuries, we only had four participants this year who flew five birds. All of the birds performed well, but as always there can only be one winner. This year the judging panel chose Scott Coleman as the winner, with Jay Lehmer as a close second. Scott, who brought two birds with him also bagged third place! After the event John Graham, THA President and his wife graciously hosted a cook out at their house for the large crowd. Thanks to John, his wife, Steve Oleson the event coordinator, our panel of judges and participants for making the 5th Annual Sky Trials a huge success!
